Twin brothers are in trouble after federal prosecutors charged them Wednesday with violating security measures at the Salt Lake City International Airport.
According to court documents, airport police discovered Tuesday that Olimpiu Nedelcu worked in a sterile area of the airport. However, the 28-year-old man did not legitimately work at the airport and allegedly had used his twin brother's badge to access the restricted area.
Documents indicate that Olimpiu Nedelcu had picked up a shift for his brother, Silviu Nedelcu, a legitimate airport employee who was unable to make it to work Tuesday. Silviu Nedelcu told police he had given his brother his secure badge and code so the brother could fill the shift, documents state.
Olimpiu and Silviu Nedelcu are each charged with one count of entering an airport area in violation of security requirements and unlawful transfer of a means of identification. The men are scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court Friday on the charges.
