Investigators from the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in solving their most recent murder case.
The body of Jason Royter, 33, was found in his house, 7383 W. Paine Road (3745 South) on Aug. 6. It was discovered by a woman he was living with who came home about 1:30 a.m.
The sheriff's office released more details about the incident Friday, saying both the victim and the house bore evidence of a "very violent altercation."
"He had multiple types of wounds, not just stab wounds," said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Paul Jaroscak. "There were multiple methods of injury."
Jaroscak did not go into detail about what other types of injuries Royter suffered.
It appeared whatever altercation took place happened throughout the entire house, he said. Furniture was overturned and blood found in multiple places.
Jaroscak said he's not sure if investigators even know the cause of death because of the multitude of injuries.
As of Friday, investigators had very few leads on possible suspects.
"It appears there was some sort of fight. We don't know why or who with. We're hoping someone saw something," Jaroscak said.
A check of court records shows Royter had a criminal history that included several arrests on drug-related charges.
Anyone who may have information should call the sheriff's office at 743-7000.
