ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — The winners of the 2009 Peabody Awards include the ABC sitcom "Modern Family," the BBC's dramatic reconstruction "The Day that Lehman Died" and National Public Radio's Web site.

The awards announced Wednesday at the University of Georgia recognize excellence in radio, television, cable and electronic media but have no specific categories.

The University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication has administered the Peabodys in Athens since the program's inception in 1940.
