LOS ANGELES — The Memphis Grizzlies today shut down former Jazz starting shooting guard Ronnie Brewer for the rest of the season.

Traded from Utah to Memphis on Feb. 18, Brewer sustained a partially torn right hamstring one night later against Miami, his first game with the Grizzlies.

He initially missed 13 games with the injury, and because of the hamstring he's only played in four games since, the last time being March 22 at Sacramento.

Brewer — eligible to enter the NBA's free-agency market this summer — averaged 8.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.57 steals in 58 total games with Memphis and Utah this season.

The Grizzlies today also shut down starting center Marc Gasol (partially torn neck muscle) for their final eight games of the season, including tonight's vs. New Orleans.
