SALT LAKE CITY — A West Valley Police officer arrested a suspected drug mule after multiple balloons of cocaine and heroin were found stuffed in a sock in the man's car.

The officer made a traffic stop last month at 3240 S. 4500 West in Salt Lake County after he received information about the delivery of some heroin.

According to criminal charges filed Thursday in 3rd Distrist Court, a subsequent search of Luis Ahumada-Carrilo's car revealed a black sock stuffed in the console that contained 37 grams of heroin, 8 grams of cocaine and $1,700.

The man told police he's paid $700 a week to deliver drugs, the charges said.

Ahumada-Carrilo, 27, was charged with two counts of second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
