Question: My family and I enjoy "No Ordinary Family" on ABC. Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch, but it's entertaining at the same time. A recent episode aired on Saturday night, and I know for a fact that when you're pushed to Saturdays that it's almost an instant cancellation notice.
Any insight? — Brian, 47, Homer City, Pa.
Rob Owen: Brian is absolutely right about the move to Saturday night. And it doesn't help that "NOF" stars Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz are shooting new pilots now, so it seems they don't expect the show to continue, either. I expect it will be canceled.
Question: Has "The Closer" been canceled? — C.P., 78, Wexford, Pa.
Rob: "The Closer" as we know it will end after the final episodes air in 2012. But there has been some talk about continuing the series without star Kyra Sedgwick, who was ready to move on. Mary McDonnell, who has played Capt. Sharon Raydor on "The Closer" on a recurring basis, was recently made a series regular, leading some to speculate that producers may be setting it up for her to star in a spin-off.
Question: I watch "The Golden Girls" on the Hallmark Channel. My question: Why doesn't the Hallmark Channel show the original programs? They cut to commercial breaks in the middle of a scene or they just cut part of the scene out.
I love that show and would like to see ALL of the program, even if I have seen them a thousand times! — Nita, 40, Washington, Pa.
Rob: They don't show the full episodes because they can make more money by adding more commercials. Your best bet is to watch the shows on DVD (assuming the DVD set contains the full, original episodes).
