Since its founding, Hoopes Vision has been guided and driven to offer patients the safest, most effective, and latest cutting-edge vision correction procedures available, in a comfortable and relaxed environment. Everything Hoopes Vision does is driven by that goal. From their early adoption of such advanced eye surgery technologies as blade-free LASIK, ICL lens implants, and laser cataract surgery; to the massage chairs, fresh-baked cookies, and the beautiful works of art adorning the walls, it's all designed to provide an eye care experience like no other.
The latest step towards this goal will be a momentous one, as Hoopes Vision relocates in December to its brand-new facility in Draper. This new building will be one of the best-equipped, most technologically advanced eye clinics and surgery centers in the country, and will provide an enhanced experience for patients. The on-site ambulatory surgery center will feature two cataract laser systems: the Optimedica Catalys(TM) and the Alcon LenSx(TM) - the only eye surgery center in the world to feature both systems. The laser surgery suite, where LASIK and PRK procedures take place, will continue to offer more laser vision correction technology than any other facility in Utah, including the Wavelight Allegretto Eye-Q(TM), Zeiss MEL-80(TM), and Intralase(TM) iFS lasers.
Hoopes Vision's new facility will also feature a clinical area dedicated to research. Dr. Phillip Hoopes was involved in early trials to help LASIK become approved by the FDA, and research to improve vision correction has remained an important part of his work since. Over the last several years, Hoopes Vision has become increasingly involved in FDA- and manufacturer-run clinical trials of new surgical technologies and procedures, in an effort to help make new and better procedures available to their patients. Under the guidance of Dr. Robert P. Rivera, Director of Clinical Research, the new research area will expand and improve Hoopes Vision's ability to participate in these trials, positioning Hoopes Vision even further as a practice dedicated to representing the absolute cutting edge in vision correction technology.
The clinic area of the new facility will be greatly expanded, with more than twice as many exam rooms as the current Sandy clinic, and an improved layout. This will improve patient flow, leading to shorter wait times and an even more pleasant patient experience, enabling Hoopes Vision's ten doctors to work as efficiently as possible.
One thing that will remain consistent as Hoopes Vision makes the transition to the new facility is the collective experience and expertise of the doctors. The surgical team comprises a combination of advanced techniques and talent, including the most experienced LASIK surgeon in Utah, the most experienced ICL lens implant surgeon in the country, one of only a handful of surgeons performing cutting-edge, laser-assisted corneal transplant surgery, and some of the most experienced cataract surgeons in the United States. With all this experience to draw on, it is no wonder that doctors at Hoopes Vision have been named among the Ten Most Dependable laser surgery centers in the United States for three consecutive years (as published in Forbes(R) Magazine), and why Phillip C. Hoopes, MD has been named as among "The Best LASIK surgeons in America" (published in Sky Magazine). Hoopes Vision's surgeons often travel nationally and internationally to educate and lecture on surgical techniques, and doctors from around the globe visit Hoopes Vision regularly to observe the use of new technology and advanced procedures.
Hoopes Vision is expected to make the move to the new building in late December with no interruption to the care of their patients. There is, of course, no need to wait for the new location to open if you want to have your vision corrected now, as the same technology and care will continue to be provided at their current location in Sandy until the move.
