Children and grown-ups alike who have ever wanted to explore the African safari, visit Neverland, learn about the life that waits under the sea or walk the streets of Arendelle now have their chance as "Disney On Ice Passport to Adventure" premieres in Salt Lake City.
On Nov. 10-13 at the Vivint Arena, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will lead audiences to Africa to visit Simba, Timon and Pumbaa from the 1994 Disney film "The Lion King," before diving under the sea to explore Ariel and Sebastian’s underwater kingdom from the 1989 animated feature "The Little Mermaid."
Next, audiences get to walk the streets of London and fly to Neverland with Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinker Bell from the 1953 version of "Peter Pan." Finally, audiences will be transported into the land of the No. 1 animated feature film of all time (according to variety.com), "Frozen," and visit Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf in Arendelle.
“The variety of things you get to see is the most exciting thing,” said Young-In Bae, an ensemble skater in the show. “The crowd reaction the kids give when they see Anna and Elsa is just huge.”
Bae says her favorite part of being a performer in the show is the chance to skate and travel the world, bringing beloved characters and stories to life in front of audiences all over the nation. Bae’s favorite part of this show, in particular, is "Frozen," because the characters and story are so widely known and loved. She said that making that magic a reality to kids all over the nation makes all of her hard work learning choreography, rigorous performance schedules and long weeks of traveling on tour worth it.
While each destination on the tour tells a different story, themes of true love, whether it’s familial, friendly or romantic, run through each narrative, showing audiences that with faith, trust and a little pixie dust, anything is possible.
In true Disney fashion, "Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure" is filled to the brim with magic. With internationally award-winning skaters dancing to meticulous choreography, stunning sets full of color and spectacle, amazing music and heartwarming characters, this show brings to life everything audiences love about these timeless Disney classics and more.
“A lot of times, families won't have the opportunity to go to Disneyland or Disney World,” Bae said. “It’s like our way of bringing it to them.”
