The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced Thursday the creation of the Polynesian Bowl, a game created for all-star Polynesian high school football players.

Six such Utah high school football players of Polynesian descent have committed to play in the inaugural event: Bingham High School's Jay Tufele and Langi Tuifua, Timpview's Chaz Ah You and Brighton's Sione Lund; Layton's Tayler Katoa and Ridgeline's Levani Damuni.

The game will be played Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.

About 30 total players have committed to play in the game and the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame is hoping for a total of 84 to participate.
