In a tweet on Wednesday, the Washington State Department of Transportation shared photos from Sherman Pass and State Road 20 that featured a mysterious figure walking through the trees.

The figure is tall, dark and handsome ... and could quite possibly be Sasquatch, according to the department.

The Washington State DOT even went back to the locations where the photos were taken on Thursday to see if they could find the creature. They even tweeted higher quality photos they took of the snowy area on that Thursday trip.

According to Fox News, there is an employee at the Washington State DOT who does know the hard truth of what’s in the photo, but he’s being very secretive about it.

CNN reports that some people think the photo actually is just a misleading angle of a tree trunk.

The New York Post found that some people thought the figure couldn’t actually be Sasquatch because he didn’t have any snow on him. Others were angry that government workers were being paid to “waste time on Twitter.”

But it appears despite the backlash, whoever runs the Washington State DOT’s Twitter still has faith in Bigfoot, according to Fox News.

Later on Wednesday, the account responded to a skeptical tweet with a GIF from “Seinfeld” which featured George Costanza saying: “Just remember, it’s not a lie if you believe it.”
