How is Coke Zero Sugar changing?

Per CNN, Coca-Cola said it plans to change the image of its Coke Zero cans to look more like the traditional red Coke can.

  • The drink will also go under a recipe change to make it taste more like regular Coke, according to CNN.
  • “Despite its enormous success, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar still represents a relatively small percentage” of the entire Coke brand, said CEO James Quincey, according to CNN. “The improved recipe brings its taste even closer to that (of) the iconic Coca-Cola,” he said, adding that “this was influenced by consumer insight and our focus on constant improvement.”

There were also rumors of a Diet Coke shortage due to issues with the supply chain during the pandemic, the Deseret News reported.

  • “We may see tighter supplies of some of these ingredients in the longer term should production or export operations in China deteriorate,” according to Fox News.
