McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi on the “Star Wars” prequel series, said the show has wrapped up filming.
- “We finished shooting our series, and it was really, really good fun,” he told reporters Sunday night, according to the New York Post. “I really enjoyed working with (director/executive producer) Deborah Chow, and I think it will not disappoint.”
- “The new technology that we employed doing it is cool, and it was a different experience than making the original three films that I did,” he said.
Speculation that the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series wrapped up filming began after McGregor won the award for best actor in a drama for his role in Netflix’s “Halston.” McGregor appeared on stage without facial hair, which raised suspicion that McGregor was done filming because Obi-Wan Kenobi has facial hair in the series.
The plot of the series remains unclear. But we know that Hayden Christensen, who plays Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in the prequel series, will make his return to the “Star Wars” universe in the new series, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
- The full cast for the upcoming show includes Joel Edgerton, Maya Erskine, Rupert Friend, fellow 2021 Emmy nominee Moses Ingram, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kan, Simone Kessell, Kumail Nanjiani, Bonnie Piesse, Benny Sadie, Indira Varma and more.
