Disney has tapped Marvel boss Kevin Feige to develop an all-new “Star Wars” movie with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

What happened: Feige will develop a new “Star Wars” movie that will fit into an entire new cinematic universe of “Star Wars” films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Star: Feige has a “major actor” in mind for a specific role in the upcoming film. Other than that, there are no details, according to THR.

What they’re saying: Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer, told THR that Feige’s experience as a “Star Wars” fan makes him a good pick for a project.

  • “We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox,” Horn told THR. “With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”

More projects: There are a number of other “Star Wars” projects in the work, including one from “The Last Jedi” director Rian Johnson and “Game of Thrones” directors David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, according to The Verge.
