A number of Florida parks — including a water park at Walt Disney World — have closed this week because of frigid temperatures in Florida, USA Today reports.
What’s going on: Several water parks across Florida have closed down due to cold temperatures. Freeze warnings are currently hitting Florida. Temperatures are struggling to hit 60 degrees, per Fox 35 Orlando.
Those parks include:
- Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort
- Aquatica Orlando
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has shut down too.
- The parks announced their decisions to close through social media.
“Due to cooler temperatures, Aquatica will be closed today through Wednesday,” Aquatica wrote in a Facebook post. ”We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to splash with you soon!”

Visiting: Disney World experts at Inside the Magic offered a few tips on how to handle visiting Disney World if you choose to do it during the colder time of year.
- Per Inside the Magic: “Even though it isn’t always cold in Florida, you should still take precautions if you plan to visit and it’s forecasted to be practically freezing. You don’t want to be one of the hundreds of guests rushing to buy a sweatshirt on Main Street before the fireworks start! We always suggest planning ahead and checking the weather in the days leading up to your trip. If you’re visiting anytime soon, pack a jacket and some pants so you’re not shivering in the early morning waiting for your Rise of the Resistance boarding group or in the evening watching Happily Ever After fireworks!”
