Walt Disney World is fully booked right now amid the coronavirus pandemic with no availability for the next few weeks, according to Deadline.

  • Similarly, Disney’s Hollywood Studios remains full booked for the rest of the month, per WDW News Today.

What’s going on?

Disney announced Sunday that all of its parks in Florida are completely booked for next week.

  • “Spring break crowds are pushing the capacity at the Florida attraction,” according to Deadline.

People can’t book any park passes from March 15 to March 18, either.

  • “Disney World Annual Passholders may have a little more luck if they want to visit the theme parks this month, as cancellations may open up some spots for them,” Deadline reports.

Context

Disney World is still the only Disney theme park open in the United States. In fact, as I wrote about before, California residents who would normally visit Disneyland have been flocking to Florida so they can experience Walt Disney World instead.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that some California residents drove from California out to Florida for Disney World.

State officials in California said Disneyland and other theme parks can reopen April 1. Disneyland has yet to choose a reopening date. This would lift some of the burdens from Disney World, giving people a chance to visit another Disney park if the Florida one doesn’t suit their liking — or if it’s packed.
