This Friday is not just any normal Friday — it’s also National French Fry Day.
According to YouGov, french fries are the most-loved food in the U.S., with a popularity ranking of 87%. Whether as snack, side dish or even as a main dish, Americans eat about 17 pounds of french fries each year, according to a survey from McCain Foods.

McDonald’s
McDonald’s customers can get a free order of medium fries for National French Fry Day with a minimum $1 purchase through the app. The offer is only valid once per person for rewards members.
“Every year, McDonald’s serves 3.6 billion servings of its World Famous Fries,” the company’s release said. “We’re making it even easier for fans to get their hands on them.”
Chick-Fil-A
While Chick-Fil-A doesn’t have a specific deal for National Fry Day, they do have a different deal running this week, per People. In honor of Cow Appreciation Day on July 14 the fast food chain is offering a free medium-sized waffle fry for Chick-fil-A One members. The deal is available until June 13. The free fries can be claimed by playing the app-exclusive game called “Spot the Cows” on the Chick-Fil-A app.
Wendy’s
Wendy’s is also giving out a free order of fries on Friday. Customers can get a free order of any size with a purchase of $5 or more in the Wendy’s app on July 10, per USA Today.
Arby’s
At Arby’s, members of their loyalty program can get an XL order of fries for $1.99 when they make a purchase of $5 or more. This offer is good through Sunday, July 12, according to USA Today.
Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay
Bobby’s Burger is offering a free order of fries with the purchase of any burger on July 10.
Del Taco
Between July 10 and 12, members of Del Taco’s loyalty program can get a free regular order of the restaurant’s crinkle-cut fries with a purchase of $3 or more. The offer can be accessed through the Del Taco app or Del Taco website, per USA Today.
Shake Shack
At Shake Shack, customers can get a free order of fries with the purchase of any sandwich using the code FRYDAY26, per USA Today. The offer is available until July 13 and can be accessed through the Shake Shack website and app.
Smashburger
Smashburger is offering a free regular-sized order of fries with the purchase of $1 or more. The offer applies to french fries, smash fries, sweet potato fries or scorchin’ fries, per USA Today. The deal can be accessed online and through the Smashburger app with code FRYDAY26.
Popeyes
According to People, Popeyes rewards members can get a free order of Cajun fries when they make a purchase of $5 or more.
Carl’s Jr.
At Carl’s Jr., MyRewards members can get a free large order of fries with any purchase, per USA Today. The deal can be accessed online and in the Carl’s Jr. app.
