LeBron James tweeted early Monday morning that he was evacuated from his home in the Los Angeles area as a result of the wildfires spreading throughout the state.
“Man these LA 🔥 aren’t no joke. Had to emergency evacuate my house and I’ve been driving around with my family trying to get rooms. No luck so far!” he tweeted Monday.
James tweeted he found accommodations later in the night. He wrote that he sent prayers to other families who are experiencing similar issues.
“Finally found a place to accommodate us! Crazy night man!”
“I 🙏🏾 for all the families in the area that could be affected by these 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 now! Pretty please get to safety ASAP,” he tweeted.
“My best wishes as well to the first responders right now doing what they do best!” James said in another tweet.
James bought a home in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighborhood for about $23 million in 2017, according to The Washington Post. Brentwood is near the southern area of the evacuation area of the city.
The Los Angeles Fire Department shared a mandatory evacuation order for areas near the 405 Freeway where a brush fire broke out Monday morning, CNN reports.
“We have an active and growing brush fire in the on the west side of the 405 Freeway, north of Sunset Blvd,” the LAPD said in a statement. “For those living in this area, you must be prepared to evacuate from Mulholland down to Sunset and from the 405 to the PCH.”
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, about 400 acres and more have burned in the fire.
