It’s another week at No. 8 for BYU, after the Cougars beat FCS opponent North Alabama 66-14 on Saturday.

The Cougars stayed eighth in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls released Sunday. The top nine spots in the Coaches poll stayed the same, while the top eight didn’t move in the AP poll.

This comes two days before the initial College Football Playoff rankings are set to be released on Tuesday evening.

The Big Ten provided two of the more significant moves in the polls. Indiana, which lost a tight 42-35 contest to No. 3 Ohio State, dropped to No. 12 in both the AP and Coaches polls. Northwestern, a 17-7 winner over Wisconsin, jumped eight spots to No. 11 in the AP poll and seven spots to No. 13 in the Coaches. The Badgers, meanwhile, fell to No. 18 in the AP and No. 20 in the Coaches, an eight-spot drop in both.

The Pac-12’s top two teams, meanwhile, both saw minimal jumps after victories. Oregon rose to No. 9 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the Coaches, a two-spot jump, while USC climbed one spot in both to No. 18 in the Coaches and No. 19 in the AP. Utah, after losing 33-17 to USC in its season opener, is no longer receiving votes in either poll.

Oklahoma helped its cause, too, with a dominant 41-13 win over Oklahoma State. The Sooners are now the top ranked team in the Big 12 — up four spots to No. 14 in the AP and up three to No. 14 in the Coaches — while the Cowboys fell to No. 21 in the AP and No. 22 in the Coaches.
