BYU didn’t have to look very far to find its latest quarterback recruit.

Skyridge High School quarterback Kaneal Sweetwyne has committed to the Cougars, he announced Tuesday via social media.

“(BYU has) been in my corner from Day 1 and and I felt like it was home for me,” Sweetwyne told 247 Sports. “I believe that their staff has the ability to help me achieve my goal of playing at the next level and being the best I can be there.”

Sweetwyne is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 17 overall Utah recruit for the class of 2026. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound dual threat QB chose the Cougars over competing offers from Utah State and Washington State.
