BYU’s fourth commitment from its 2027 recruiting class can be found a long way from Provo.
New Jersey cornerback Ryan Wooten was committed to the Cougars, he announced Sunday via social media.
Wooten, rated as a 3-star prospect by 247 Sports, chose BYU over the likes of Florida, Florida State, Boston College and a number of other notable programs. He ranks as the No. 16 overall player in New Jersey and the No. 61 cornerback nationally.
As a junior for St. Peter’s Prep this past season, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Wooten logged 46 total tackles with an interception.
Aside from Wooten, California defensive lineman Jeremiah Williams, Las Vegas running back Ezra Sanelivi and Herriman athlete Tytan DeJong comprise the rest of BYU’s 2027 recruiting class.
