FRISCO, Texas — Though he’s been a college coach for nearly two decades, Morgan Scalley did something Wednesday that he had never done before.

He took the mic as head coach at a football media days event, representing his Utah team on the podium at The Star, the practice facility of the Dallas Cowboys, at Big 12 media days.

Scalley sounded like a consummate pro.

Whether it was talking about the culture of his Utes program, his journey to becoming a head coach or commenting on his star players such as quarterback Devon Dampier, Scalley explored several topics with the media.
