OGDEN — An Ogden couple is accused of chaining their daughter to her bed for years.

Trev Jordan Tutt, 33, and Kimberly Marie Tutt, 35, were charged Friday in 2nd District Court with child abuse, a second-degree felony; and child abuse, a class A misdemeanor. Kimberly Tutt received an additional charge of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.

The couple’s 15-year-old daughter recently told police that “her mother, Kimberly Tutt (Kim) has been torturing her for years. She disclosed being chained up at night with a chain on her wrist since she was in 7th grade,” according to charging documents.

The girl also said she was recently chained to a bed in a motel room “and forced to lay under the bed, with only about 7 inches of clearance, for approximately 12 hours,” the charges state.

After the girl was allowed to use the restroom, she was “physically forced” back under the bed by her father and mother, according to the charges.

“Both Kim and Trev admitted to me this was true. Additionally, food has been withheld from (the daughter) and though she is 15 she seems small for her age suggesting stunted growth. Both Trev and Kim admit that withholding food is used as a form of discipline though they claim K is not being starved,” the charges state.

The daughter told investigators that in four days she ate one cheeseburger, two pancakes and one small egg roll, with water being withheld for two of those days, according to charging documents.

Kim Tutt also allegedly hit her daughter in the head with a hammer and a wrench about a year ago, according to a Weber County Jail booking report.

The girl’s two sisters did not receive the same type of abuse, the charges state.
