Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa had a skin cancer tumor removed from his chest, his doctor said.

Bourassa, 58, who was treated two years ago for melanoma, had surgery Wednesday at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md., Dr. Steven Rosen-berg said Friday."Mr. Bourassa has recovered very well from this surgery," he said, but added that the premier would need more treatment.

Bourassa flew to Miami on Thursday for a family vacation.
