Michael Paul Lookinland, the actor who portrayed Brady Bunch TV character Bobby Brady, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a weekend rollover.
Lookinland, 36, Salt Lake City, was charged after he rolled his 1990 Bronco Sunday night on U-18, police said Tuesday. Lookinland has been in St. George working as first assistant cameraman on the set of "Promised Land," a CBS television show that has been filming in the area.Police reports put his blood-alcohol level at .258, more than three times the Utah legal limit of .08. He also was cited for an unsafe lane change. Lookinland was wearing a seat belt and was not speeding.
He was booked into the Washington County Jail at 9:50 p.m. Sunday after being treated for cuts and bruises at Dixie Regional Medical Center. He was released less than an hour later on $1,550 bail, Sgt. Thad Mattson said.
"Mr. Brady Bunch was here just long enough to get booked and post bail," Mattson told the Deseret News Wednesday, as fellow jailers whistled the theme song from the Brady Bunch television show in the background.
Two officers responded to the incident, which occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. about 35 miles north of St. George. Lookinland told police he had looked down to adjust his radio as he was approaching a curve and drifted across the double yellow line onto the left shoulder. He overcorrected and rolled at least two times off the right side of the road.
