DRAPER — Corner Canyon offensive lineman had previously committed to Utah, but turns out an offer proved too tough to turn down.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound prospect made an official trip out to Columbus, Ohio, over the weekend and tweeted out Sunday evening that he had committed to the Buckeyes.
"My trip over there really opened my eyes to a lot of things," Bowen told scout.com's Doug Kimmel. "That coaching staff is the best of the best. They know what it takes to win national championships and really do a good job preparing guys for the next level. I want to be a part of something special, and that's what Ohio State is."
Bowen is rated as a 3-star prospect by both rivals and scout.com and held offers from Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Utah State, Nebraska and Oregon State, among others.
"He's learned to play aggressive now. That's the biggest thing I think," appraised Corner Canyon coach Don Eck. "He's worked very hard, and he's at the point now where he isn't getting beat by anyone out there. He's become a big leader for us and is having a great year."
