Popeyes announced Tuesday that it will be adding chicken nuggets to its menu in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico beginning later this month.

Sami Siddiqui, president of Popeyes America, said in a statement that the chicken nuggets will be unlike other chicken nuggets out there.

  • “We aim to show the world once again the magic of Popeyes chicken with our new Nuggets,” he said. “We believe that these piece(s) of crunchy, juicy delicious chicken will have guests question how they ever enjoyed chicken nuggets before this.”

What will Popeyes chicken nuggets taste like?

The chicken nugget will have “the quality and flavors of the famous Chicken Sandwich” but “in poppable pieces,” according to a Popeyes press release.

  • The nuggets will use “a special flour and batter system to provide the perfect crispy texture which guests have come to love and expect from its flagship fried chicken,” according to Popeyes.

What sauces will Popeyes offer?

Popeyes said in a release that it will offer its nuggets with the following sauces:

  • Bayou Buffalo
  • BoldBQ
  • Blackened Ranch
  • Buttermilk Ranch
  • Wild Honey Mustard
  • Sweet Heat

When do Popeyes chicken nuggets come out?

Per Popeyes, the chicken nuggets drop on July 27.

Will Popeyes chicken nuggets sell well?

The chicken nuggets are coming at an interesting time in the industry, according to CNN Business. Chicken nuggets and chicken sandwiches seem to be everywhere.

  • “It’s a tricky time to introduce a new chicken item. Demand for white meat chicken is growing as more chains add fried chicken sandwiches to their menus,” CNN Business reports. “Supply chain constraints have driven up the prices of some chicken parts, and some restaurants are having a hard time meeting demand.”
