Are you ready for another adventure in a galaxy far, far away?
“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” recently flew into Disney+ on Dec. 2, 2024, releasing episodes every Tuesday. With a “Star Wars” meets “Goonies” feel, the show follows four children and their space adventures with pirates.
But where does this fit in the rest of the “Star Wars” universe?
Where does ‘Skeleton Crew’ fit in the ‘Star Wars’ timeline?
According to Space.com, “Skeleton Crew” is placed in the year nine ABY (After the Battle of Yavin), which is right after the fall of The Empire and during The New Republic era.
For more context, this is only five years after Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) defeats Darth Vadar (James Earl Jones) in “Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi.”
The official “Star Wars” website also shows that this small crew is wandering the galaxy around the same time as the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal), former jedi Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and the infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison).
While all of these characters are witnessing The New Republic gain its footing, do Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Kyriana Kratter), Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) and Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) have credits from the Old Republic Era?
The Old Republic Era is years before the time of “Star Wars: The Acolyte” — which takes place in The High Republic era — and when the Jedi Order is just emerging, per StarWars.com.
Will the show enlighten fans more about this era from the beginning of the “Star Wars” timeline? We’ll have to wait and see.
Where in the galaxy does ‘Skeleton Crew’ take place?
The show focuses on planets in the Outer Rim, with the planet At Attin being the main focus.
After accidentally leaving their home planet, the four kids land on Port Borgo, which is swarming with pirates. This is where they meet Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law).
In their efforts to make it home, the crew travels to the Observatory Moon, the home of an ancient telescopic array, as well as At Achrann, a war-torn planet, and Lanupa, a beautiful resort.
“The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett” also take place in the Outer Rim, while “Ahsoka” travels to various parts of the galaxy.
