At 43, Anne Hathaway is expecting her third child — which she has dubbed her “buzzer-beater” baby.

Hathaway, who stars in the upcoming film “The Odyssey,” explained the affectionate nickname during a red carpet interview at the London world premiere while promoting the epic.

“There’s always, you know, hope until there’s not, but when you get to a certain age, that hope looks like it’s about 1% to 2%,” Hathaway said.

“So we just decided to see where life took us, with a very, very healthy, realistic expectation, which was very low. We’re overjoyed because we just know from personal experience that not everybody gets this, and certainly not when you want it — sometimes not ever,” she continued. “It’s a blessing that we do not take for granted.”

Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, have two sons, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. She announced her pregnancy on June 19, before beginning the promotional tour for “The Odyssey.”

“Oh, my gosh. It’s amazing. It’s amazing,” Hathaway said of her pregnancy during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” adding that she was “shocked” to find out she was pregnant again.

“I mean, we knew what we were doing, but we were so shocked it worked,” she added. “We were so shocked it went this way, so we’re calling this one our buzzer-beater.”

Hathaway also shared a tender moment with a red carpet reporter, who is also pregnant. “We have a lot in common,” Hathaway told her.

The reporter then revealed it is her first pregnancy, which came after a lot of work, false starts and heartache.

“When this one safely lands, you and I will talk,” Hathaway said. “Good luck. Enjoy every second of it.”

“That’s one thing about the first, you’re kind of up here,” Hathaway said, gesturing to her head, “but you’ve got to be here as much as you can,” she added, placing a hand over her heart.

“When you have that history, it’s hard every moment,” Hathaway said.

Hathaway has previously spoken candidly about her fertility journey. In 2019, while announcing her pregnancy with son Jack, she acknowledged that her path to pregnancy had not been straightforward and offered support to those facing infertility and conception struggles.

Also during her promotional tour, she was gifted an “Odyssey”-inspired crocheted baby outfit during an interview with the “Today” show.

Opening the gift, which included a diaper cover, a cape and a helmet, Hathaway fought back tears.

“This is appropriately epic, thank you so much,” she said.
