BYU linebacker Aisea Moa has entered the transfer portal, he announced Monday via social media.
The news was first reported by Pete Nakos of On3.
“I want to thank the whole program and the University from the bottom of my heart,” Moa said in a social media post. “I want to thank Coach Kalani (Sitake), Coach (Jay) Hill, Coach (Justin) Ena, Coach (Kelly Poppinga) and the rest of the staff for taking a chance on me. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without this program. I want to thank the strength staff, admin, third floor and support staff for everything they did for me. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to play for Brigham Young University.

“With that being said, after talking with my family and to God, I will be entering the transfer portal with two years of eligibility. Thank you Cougar Nation for loving and accepting me.”
Moa appeared in 11 games for the Cougars in 2024, making his only start in the regular-season finale against Houston on Nov. 30. In 142 total snaps of action on the year, he recorded 16 tackles with a forced fumble.
A redshirt sophomore, Moa played in five contests for BYU between 2022-23 and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
The North Ogden native was given a four-star rating by 247 Sports and was ranked as the No. 4 recruit in Utah for the class of 2021. During his prep career at Weber High, Moa tallied 113 tackles with 15.5 sacks and two interceptions.
Moa joins Crew Wakley, Micah Harper, Kody Epps, and Jackson Bowers as notable BYU players to have entered the transfer portal since the end of the regular season.
