The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday fired coach Richard Williamson, whose team finished 3-13 in his first full season as coach.

Counting his three games in 1990 as interim coach, Williamson's record was 4-15 in his first head coaching job.Williamson, 50, was named the fourth coach in Buccaneers' history and received a two-year contract last Feb. 4 after finishing the 1990 season as interim coach. He replaced Ray Perkins, who hired Williamson as Tampa Bay's receivers coach in 1987. Williamson was the receivers coach for four years, until Perkins was fired.

Tampa Bay owner Hugh Culverhouse said he would not comment on a replacement for Williamson, but former New York Giants coach Bill Parcells reportedly has been offered the job.

According to published reports, Parcells has until this weekend to decide if he will accept Culverhouse's offer of a five-year contract worth $7.5 million. Parcells resigned as Giants coach last May after winning his second Super Bowl and is a commentator for NBC-TV.
