Heisman Trophy finalist Steve Emtman, the nation's premier college lineman, said today he will skip his senior season at Washington and enter the NFL draft.

Emtman, a junior defensive tackle, has been mentioned as a possible No. 1 pick in the April 26 NFL draft. Today was the deadline for underclassmen to declare themselves eligible for the draft. Emtman said the issue was not money, though he stands to make millions in the pros as a high draft pick. "I feel like I'm ready to go to the next level," Emtman said at a news conference.Locally . . .
