She started modeling in Denver and switched to acting in New York in 1983 when she was cast in the TV series "Our Family Honor." Then came five years as April Stevens in "Dallas." She had a bit in the feature "Tootsie." She's starred in the TV movies "Power Play" and "News at Eleven" and the miniseries "Kane and Abel." She's single with a young son.Q. A. The Reed show was seen on ABC from 1958-66. Reed (Donna Stone) died in 1986; Carl Betz (Dr. Alex Stone) died in 1978; Shelley Fabres (Mary Stone) has done seven series since then, including her current show, "Coach"; Paul Petersen (Jeff Stone) turned to writing and directing, then tried other business ventures. Patty Petersen (Trisha Stone), Paul's sister, left show business.
Q. One of my favorite TV shows was "Punky Brewster," starring Soliel Moon Frye. Since the show was canceled I have seen her only in an "ABC After School Special." What has happened to her? - E.B.S., Tulsa, Okla.
A. Frye, 17, played Punky for four years when she was 8 to 12 years old, then ran into a tough problem. A small girl (5 feet 1 inch, 103 pounds), she developed huge breasts, a medical condition known as gigantiomastia. She had back, psychological and casting problems. She couldn't play teenagers "because my body looked like an older woman's. People started to think of me as a bimbo," she told People magazine. In 1992, she underwent breast reduction surgery. Since then, she's worked on stage in Los Angeles, appeared on a teen talk show, "You Are Here," and in the feature "The Liars Club."

A. The show was "The Lineup." Dubbed "San Francisco Beat" in syndication, it ran from 1954-1960. Tully actually was the second lead and was dropped from the show in 1959, a season before it left the air. Warner Anderson starred.

A. Look for more of Van Dyke as the doctor-detective after the World Series ends. CBS has put "It Had To Be You," the Faye Dunaway-Robert Urich sitcom, on hiatus and moved "Family Album" to Fridays. The Van Dyke show will air Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. ET. Barry Van Dyke, 42, is Dick's son. He's worked with his dad before on both "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "The New Dick Van Dyke Show." His other show appearances include "The Harvey Korman Show," "Battlestar Galactica," "Gun Shy" and "The Redd Foxx Show."
Q. Can you tell me about the series "Emerald Point"? I've heard it mentioned several times but never saw it. - J.C., Ridgefield, Conn.
A. The title was "Emerald Point NAS" (for Naval Air Station). It lasted only a single season, 1983-84. It was another continuing story cooked up at the time that "Dallas," "Falcon Crest" and "Knots Landing" were TV's hottest shows. This one had a military slant, the saga of an admiral commanding the naval air station and his family. Dennis Weaver starred. Cast members included Susan Dey, Richard Dean Anderson, Jill St. John, Sela Ward and Robert Loggia.
Q. Is Sly, the owner of the Bikini Bar of "The Bold and the Beautiful," any relation to Sylvester Stallone? - T.K., Burbank, Calif.
A. Stallone's nickname is Sly and that's the only connection, remote though it is, to "B&B's" Sly. Brent Jasmer plays Sly Donovan. He's from Springfield, Ore., and studied drama at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. He did regional theater before landing on the soap in early 1991.
