World champion figure skater Stephane Lambiel returned to training a week after injuring himself on the ice.

The 20-year-old Lambiel "carried out jumps, figures and pirouettes in the presence of his doctor without feeling any pain," the Swiss Olympic Committee said Thursday.

"He will increase the intensity of his training over the course of the next few days," the statement said. "In order to give him the maximum time to train and to undergo physical therapy at home, he will not arrive in Turin until Feb. 12," the statement said. Lambiel injured himself in a fall during training last week. An X-ray showed ligament damage in his right knee and forced him to stop training.
