On the heels of a historic Thanksgiving box office weekend featuring an array of highly-anticipated movies, the box office will be uncharacteristically dry this Christmas.

“Wicked,” “Moana 2″ and “Gladiator II” all opened in November ahead of Thanksgiving weekend, bringing much-needed hoards of moviegoers to the box office. But the jam-packed movie lineup left Christmas day — a traditionally popular movie premiere date — will much to be desired.

The 2024 Christmas movie lineup has a couple family-friendly flick options with “Mufasa: The Lion King” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3″ opening the weekend before the holiday — but not much else.

If you make it to Christmas without seeing “Wicked” “Gladiator II” or “Moana 2,” all three films will still be available to watch in theaters. And if nothing at the box office entices you to leave the comfort of your own couch, Netflix is launching several new movies to stream in December.

Here are some movies you can see in theaters during the Christmas.
